Product review: Voodoo Tactical Ergo Pack Shoulder Bag

I had been thinking of replacing my 15 plus year old fanny pack.  Believe me it looks 15+ years old.  It has served me well, being my primary concealed carry device.  Some of the zippers don’t work. The leather is worn.  It was time for some thing new.

I had notice the Maxpedition Versipack.  I wanted some thing that would work for a bug out bag and concealed carry.  A bag like this would fill my need perfect.  I priced the Versipack at around $67.  A little more than I wanted to spend.  By chance I found the Voodoo Tactical Ergo Pack.  Voodoo Tactical advertised it at $49.95.  http://www.voodootactical.net
I also found it at Sportsman’s Guide for $39.97.  http://www.sportsmansguide.com

I called Voodoo Tactical & spoke to their helpful staff.  After speaking with them I felt I had found what I was looking for.  I ordered online & received my bag in around 5 days.
It came well packed & with a coupon code for 10% off my next order.  Once I got it out of the box I was very impressed.  The bag seems very well made.

The Voodoo Tactical Ergo Pack has nine pockets, pouches and compartments.  MOLLE compatible attachment points & a concealed carry pocket.

The supplied holster was also very nice.  It fit my EAA Witness, so most full framed pistols will work.  Voodoo Tactical show a Beretta 92 in their pictures.  Once installed in the pocket my Witness just fits in the bag.  A compact pistol might be a better fit for the pack.

Two inner pockets work great for handgun magazines.  The main compartment is water-resistant and measures 7 x 8 x 4 inches.   Voodoo Tactical advertises it will hold everything from canteen to half a dozen rifle magazines. They even claim it will hold a couple boxes of shotgun shells, or you can also use it as a dump pouch for empty magazines.  I will have to test fit some rifle magazines to see how well it works.

The bag seems to have plenty of pockets & compartments for all your needs.  I plan to store a small first aid kit, flashlight & a folding knife.   I may add an emergency blanket & rain poncho. The cell phone/radio pocket doesn’t fit my phone.  I tried an old flip phone & it fit perfect.

My only gripe was that the clip on the holster came install.  Unfortunately the clip was installed on the wrong side that I needed.  After a little work with I was able to get the clip off & move it to the other side.  Not a big deal, but it was a pain in the butt.

All in all I have to say I’m impressed with this bag.  I’m very happy with the purchase & would suggest it to others.  Great job Voodoo Tactical.
